Aayan, Ibraheem win Ravi Cup ATF U-12 boys’ doubles title

Muhammad Aayan and M Ibraheem Hussain Gill captured the boys’ U-12 doubles title at the Ravi Cup ATF Asian Junior Tour U-12 2026, defeating Mustafa Uzair Rana and Daniyal Abdullah 6-2, 6-4 in the final at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park Sports Complex, Lahore, on Friday.
Aayan of Fatima Group and Ibrahim produced a composed performance in the doubles final, controlling the match from the outset to secure a straight-sets victory over Rana and Abdullah. In the boys’ U-12 singles semifinals, Aayan also advanced to the final with an emphatic 6-1, 6-1 victory over Muhammad Faizan. He will face his doubles partner Ibrahim, who booked his place in the title clash after overcoming Muhammad Daniyal 6-1, 6-3.
The girls’ U-12 singles competition also witnessed an all-Umer final, with sisters Shahnoor Umer and Shahreen Umer advancing to the championship match. Shahreen defeated Amalia Aidrus 6-0, 3-1 before Amalia retired, while Shahnoor secured a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory over Dua Qureshi to complete the family showdown.
The girls’ doubles final also featured the Umer sisters, Shahnoor and Shahreen, who defeated Amalia Aidrus and Zara Aidrus 6-3, 6-3. The remaining singles finals are scheduled to be played on Saturday (October 3, 2026), bringing the Ravi Cup ATF Asian Junior Tour U-12 2026 to its end.
Meanwhile, Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazal-ur-Rehman invited the promising young players to his office, where he appreciated their hard work, dedication and impressive performances. He congratulated the youngsters on their achievements and wished them continued success in their future endeavours, assuring them of the department’s full support.
Fazal-ur-Rehman said that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has a clear vision for the promotion and development of sports across the province. “Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has particularly directed us to strengthen the sporting nurseries across Punjab and provide our children and youth with greater opportunities to participate in healthy sporting activities,” he said.
He added that the objective was not only to develop talented athletes but also to encourage young people to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle, helping them grow into physically fit, mentally strong and responsible citizens who can make a positive contribution to the country.
