Rashid Malik storms into finals, Waqar Nisar finishes runner-up at ITF Masters MT200

The Bank of Punjab–sponsored senior tennis players once again put up an impressive show at the Robinson Khao Lak Tennis ITF World Masters Tour MT200 Tournament, highlighting Pakistan’s strong presence on the international senior tennis circuit.

In the Men’s Singles 60+ category, Rashid Malik produced a commanding performance to storm into the finals, defeating second seed Helman Sitohang of Singapore in straight sets. Malik dominated the contest with his experience and consistency, sealing a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory to book his place in the championship match.

Meanwhile, Waqar Nisar concluded his campaign as runner-up after a valiant effort in the final against Italy’s Ermanno Carmeline, who currently holds an ITF world ranking of 25. Battling against a highly ranked opponent and the scorching Khao Lak heat, Waqar fought hard in a gruelling encounter that lasted one hour and 45 minutes before going down 2-6, 1-6. Despite the loss, Waqar’s run to the final reflected his determination, fitness and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
