Jounieh, Lebanon: Pakistan recorded an important victory at the IMMAF Asian Championship as Abdul Mannan defeated Syria’s Yanal Aldoki by TKO in the semi-final, advancing to the championship final and moving within reach of the Asian title.
Mannan showed composure and control throughout the bout, gradually increasing pressure before securing the stoppage. The win positions him one step away from becoming Asian Champion and potentially bringing home the gold medal for Pakistan.
The IMMAF Asian Championship, currently underway in Lebanon, features over 400 athletes from 18 countries, making Mannan’s progression particularly significant for the national team.
Pakistan entered the tournament ranked No. 3 in Asia, continuing the momentum generated after hosting the IMMAF Asian Championship last year in Lahore, where the country earned 12 medals and demonstrated its growing strength in the sport.
Mannan will now compete in the final with an opportunity to secure one of Pakistan’s highest honours in the continental championships.
