*Pakistan’s rising tennis sensation Mikaeel Ali Baig continued his stunning run of form, capturing his third consecutive ITF junior singles title after defeating Hamza Roman to win the ITF Pakistan World Junior Tennis Championship J-60 at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad.In the boys’ singles final, Mikaeel displayed remarkable composure and precision, dominating both sets with tactical brilliance to seal a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Hamza Roman. The win marked his third straight ITF singles crown, this time in J-60 tennis event, cementing his reputation as one of the Pakistan’s most promising young players and significantly boosting his international ranking.In the boys’ doubles final, Pakistan’s Hamza Roman and Abubakar Talha overcame Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK) and Kristijonas (LTU) 6-4, 6-4, to claim the doubles title. Hamza’s consistent performances throughout the event, reaching both the singles final and doubles championship, earned him high praise from officials and fans alike.Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Mohyuddin Wani, graced the closing ceremony as chief guest, while PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi attended as guest of honour. They distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up alongside Col (R) Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary General of PTF.The ceremony was also attended by DIG Saleem Marwat (SEVP-PTF), Major Suleman Junaid (SEVP-PTF), Syed Fahim Imam (Chief Marketing Officer, Serena Hotels), Col. Gul Rehman (Director C&S PTF), as well as numerous players, parents, coaches, journalists, and tennis enthusiasts.Mohyuddin Wani congratulated all participants and commended the PTF for successfully hosting international events, assuring continued government support for tennis development in Pakistan.Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President PTF, lauded the young athletes for their performances, extending special praise to Mikaeel for his triple-title feat and to Hamza and Abubakar for their doubles success. He added that with Pakistan’s Nadir Mirza, Abubakar Talha, and Mikaeel Ali Baig collectively securing five ITF singles titles in just six months, the country’s tennis future looks brighter than ever.The week-long event attracted a large pool of talented junior players from China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Nepal, and Pakistan, reflecting the growing global recognition of tennis in the country. They were all full of praise for Pakistan and PTF’s warmth and hospitality and hoped that they would love to visit Pakistan again to feature in the coming J-30 and J-60 events.
