PAF dominate Army as Customs and Port Qasim share points in thrilling draw at CNS All-Pakistan Hockey Tournament

Customs held Port Qasim to a 2-2 draw in a nail-biting encounter before Pakistan Air Force (PAF) thrashed Pakistan Army 4-0 in a commanding display on the third day of the 4th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Hockey Tournament 2025 at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore on Saturday.
The day’s proceedings were graced by Olympian Tahir Zaman, who attended as chief guest. Addressing the players, he praised their passion and fighting spirit, urging them to continue working hard to reach the international stage. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to Pakistan Navy for its support of national hockey, a sport that once made Pakistan a global powerhouse.
“Pakistan Navy’s commitment to reviving our national game is commendable,” said Zaman. “With such patronage, I am confident we will soon witness the resurgence of Pakistan hockey. More institutions and sponsors should step forward to strengthen this mission.”

MATCH 1: CUSTOMS 2 – 2 PORT QASIM (DRAW)
The opening contest of the day kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Port Qasim drew first blood in the 3rd minute when Hassan Shahbaz converted a field goal. Customs regrouped and equalized in the 30th minute through Muhammad Ahmad, also via a field strike.
The intensity rose in the second half as Bilal Aslam put Customs ahead with a penalty corner conversion in the 43rd minute. However, the lead was short-lived as Aleem Usman brought Port Qasim back into the game just two minutes later, scoring from another penalty corner in the 45th minute. Despite late attempts from both sides, the match concluded in a fair 2-2 stalemate.
MATCH 2: PAF 4 – 0 ARMY
Pakistan Air Force delivered a clinical performance to overpower Army in the second encounter of the day. Yasir Ali led from the front, netting twice with brilliantly executed field goals in the 25th and 59th minutes.
He was well supported by drag-flick specialists Abdul Manan and Rizwan Ali, who converted penalty corners in the 28th and 43rd minutes respectively. Army struggled to match PAF’s speed, structure and finishing efficiency, ultimately conceding a comprehensive defeat.
