Pakistan’s U19 Cricket Team Ready for Action in ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup

The Pakistan U19 cricket team has landed in South Africa, gearing up for the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup commencing on January 19. The team, captained by Saad Baig, finds itself in Group D, facing challenging opponents like Afghanistan, New Zealand, and Nepal. Pakistan boasts a commendable track record in the tournament, clinching the title in 2004 and 2006.

Prior to departure, Captain Saad Baig addressed the media, outlining the team’s focused approach. “Our ambition is clear – clinch the World Cup. We recognize the strength of every team, hence no room for complacency. We are geared up with a meticulous strategy for each game,” Saad affirmed.

Saad further highlighted the team’s unity and the shared determination to excel. “Leading the U19 team is a privilege. We stand united, expecting nothing but the best from each player. Adapting and evolving from our mistakes is pivotal,” he added.

The 15-member squad features Ali Asfand and Mohammad Zeeshan, both seasoned players who showcased their prowess in the previous U19 World Cup held in the West Indies in 2022.
