Asian Volleyball Championship: Pakistan lose against Korea

Pakistan lost their second group game against Korea 3-1 in the ongoing Asian Volleyball Championship in Iran on Monday.

Korea registered their win with scores of 26-28, 25-20, 32-30, and 25-22.The game was a close one except for the second set, which Korea won by five points, the remaining sets were won with a close margin.Despite a brilliant performance in the first set as Pakistan made a comeback from 15-18 down to a 28-26 win, they ended up losing the next three sets.

In the second set, both teams went head-to-head and the score was 16-16 after some time. But the Koreans did not give any room to the Pakistani players and won the set 25-20.The third set was a very close one, the match tied once again 25-25, even though Pakistan got a one-point lead three times in the set, they could not edge the Koreans and ended up losing 32-30.The fourth set was also very close, but all of Pakistan’s efforts were wasted by the strong Korean team and the set was won by the latter 25-22.On Sunday, Pakistan beat Bangladesh 3-0 in their opening game and went off to a flying start.

The win also confirmed Pakistan’s berth in the next round as Bangladesh lost both of its group matches.
