In a joyous occasion, several Pakistani cricketers attended the wedding ceremony of Shahid Afridi’s daughter in Karachi. However, the players were unable to attend the Valima reception of Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf due to adverse weather conditions. The bad weather prevented them from traveling to Rawalpindi. Despite this, Fakhar Zaman and Faheem Ashraf managed to attend Rauf’s reception.

Sources indicate that the Pakistan team management made the decision to restrict travel to Rawalpindi due to the poor weather conditions and the team’s upcoming Test series in Sri Lanka. Originally, the players were scheduled to travel from Karachi to Rawalpindi and return on Saturday afternoon. However, considering the monsoon season and the forecast of rain in the country, the team management deemed it risky to proceed with the travel plan.

The Pakistan team recently concluded its training camp at the National Stadium in Karachi. The team is now gearing up for the Test series against Sri Lanka, which will mark the beginning of the national team’s participation in the third ICC Test Championship cycle.

Here is the itinerary for Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka:

  • July 9: Pakistan arrives in Colombo
  • July 11-12: Warm-up game
  • July 16-20: First Test at Galle International Cricket Stadium
  • July 24-28: Second Test at Singhalese Sports Club, Colombo

The Pakistan squad for the tour includes captain Babar Azam, vice-captain and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Afridi, and Shan Masood.
