Asad faces Amir in boys U-18 finals at SICAS Punjab Junior Tennis

Top junior tennis talent lit up the courts on day five of the SICAS Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2025 at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore.
A total of 20 exciting matches were played across various age categories, with the spotlight firmly on the boys U-18 singles and doubles semifinals, where rising stars Asad Zaman of Ali Embroidery Mills and Amir Mazari of Aitchison produced commanding performances to book their spots in the finals.
In the boys U-18 singles semifinals, Asad Zaman displayed outstanding form, sweeping past Ahmad Fareed Yawar with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory. In the second semifinal, Amir Mazari was equally impressive, crushing Abdullah Pirzada 6-0, 6-2 to set up a mouth-watering final clash with Zaman.
The boys U-18 doubles semifinals also delivered quality tennis. The pair of Mazari and Haroon Arif defeated Romail Shahid and Faizan Haider 6-3, while Asad Zaman and Abdullah Pirzada eased past Salar and Muaz 6-1, setting up an exciting final showdown.
In the boys U-14 category, Ohad e Mustafa overcame Muhammad Muaz 4-1, 5-3, while M Umar Ali staged a gritty comeback to beat Muhammad Aayan 1-4, 4-1, 5-3. In boys U-12, Muhammad Aayan of Fatima Group proved too strong for Mustafa Uzair Rana, registering a straight-set win 4-0, 4-0.
On the girls’ side, Aiman Rehan showed great resilience in the Girls U-12 semi-final, bouncing back from a set down to edge past Eman Shahbaz 0-4, 4-0, 5-3 in a thrilling contest. Among the seniors, in the 45+ doubles semi-finals, Talha Waheed and Ashar Khan outclassed Dr. Arif and Arif Feroze 8-2, while Sheheryar Salamat and Hadi Hussain defeated Hasan Said and Qadir Nawaz 8-4.
All final matches will be played today (Thursday) at the Punjab Tennis Academy. The prize distribution ceremony will be graced by Mr. Sheheryar Salamat, Director of SICAS, as the chief guest.
