Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes and FG/Din Polo secured coveted spots in the main final of the 4th Allama Iqbal Polo Cup 2023 after emerging victorious in their respective semifinals at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Friday.

According to Jinnah Polo Fields Secretary Maj Ali Taimur (R), the two-week-long eight-goal event at Jinnah Polo Fields witnessed fierce competition among eight teams. Top-performing teams, Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes and FG/Din Polo, clinched their places in the main final after delivering stellar performances.

In the first semifinal, Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes displayed exceptional polo prowess, defeating team Remounts by a narrow margin of 9½-8. Raja Temur Nadeem emerged as the hero of the day, scoring impressive seven goals and Saqib Khan Khakwani converting two goals for Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes that had a handicap advantage of a half goal. Lao Abelenda led the scoring for Remounts with three goals and Mohammad Naeem and Imran Shahid adding two goals each and Omer Asjad Malhi one.

The second semifinal witnessed FG/Din Polo overpowering Master Paints/Newage Cables with a convincing 9-4 victory. Bilal Haye shone with outstanding performance, contributing seven goals, while Juan Cruz Greguol added two. For Master Paints/Newage Cables,

Hamza Mawaz Khan contributed three goals and Adnan Jalil Azam one.

The enthralling matches of Friday drew a large crowd of spectators who enjoyed the captivating polo action at Jinnah Polo Fields. Meanwhile, the stage is now set for an epic final showdown between Diamond Paints and FG/Din Polo on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm.
