TTS Report :
The Pakistan Martial Arts Association (PMAA) has conducted Quwwat-e-Niswan Boot Camp in Peshawar, marking a significant step forward in women’s empowerment and personal safety through structured martial arts and real-world threat response training.
The landmark initiative was jointly organised by the PMAA and IFMSA-Pakistan at Khyber Medical College (KMC), bringing together female medical students and professionals from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two-day boot camp witnessed participation from over 200 women, including students from Khyber Medical College, Khyber Girls Medical College, Rehman Medical College, North West School of Medicine, Kabir Medical College, Jinnah Medical College, Gajju Khan Medical College Swabi, and Pak-International Medical College. Doctors from the Female Physicians Society Pakistan also took part, reflecting a strong, collective commitment within the medical community toward safety, resilience, and empowerment.
The initiative aligns with the vision of IFMSA-Pakistan President Muhammad Zaid, who aims to train 10,000 medical students and professionals by 2028 in collaboration with the PMAA, creating a nationwide network of confident and self-reliant female healthcare providers. As part of this roadmap, a major training event is planned in Lahore next month, expected to gather around 500 participants and mark one year of collaboration between the two organisations.
The training sessions were conducted under the leadership of Chief Trainer Sensei Anwar Mohiuddin, supported by senior instructors Chaudhry Hanzla, Sumaiyya Mohiuddin, Maheen Shoaib, and Hooria Faisal. The intensive program focused not only on physical self-defense techniques but also on psychological preparedness, equipping participants to handle real-life threats such as assaults, weapon-based attacks, hostage situations, and unsafe public transport scenarios.
Organisational efforts were led by IFMSA-KMC Local Committee President Muhammad Hassan and LARA representative Hadeeqa Saleem, whose team ensured the smooth execution of the event. Participants underwent six hours of rigorous training each day, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm, endurance, and engagement throughout the sessions.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Aliena Badshah, President of the Female Physicians Society Pakistan, termed the boot camp a historic milestone, praising the participants’ dedication and the organisers’ efforts in bringing together students from multiple institutions under one platform.
At the closing ceremony, distinguished ShinKyokushin Karate figure Muhammad Zakariya Khan attended as chief guest and distributed certificates and medals. Gold medals were awarded to outstanding performers, recognising their exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment.
The event also saw active participation from members of ‘Da Hawwa Lur’, further reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and empowerment among women. The Quwwat-e-Niswan Boot Camp stands as a defining initiative, transforming fear into confidence and equipping women with lifelong skills for safety and self-reliance.
