Syed Mohsen Gilani, President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), held a productive meeting with Mattias Grafström, Secretary General of FIFA, at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich on Monday, where the global body reaffirmed its confidence in Pakistan football’s leadership and ongoing reforms.
According to Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), during the meeting, Grafström congratulated Gilani on the national women’s team’s impressive performance in the FIFA Series, terming it a significant milestone for the country’s football development. Gilani expressed gratitude to Gianni Infantino and the FIFA leadership for their continued support towards Pakistan football, particularly during a crucial phase of restructuring and revival.
Key areas of discussion included football governance, institutional reforms, and the urgent need to upgrade infrastructure across the country. The PFF chief highlighted infrastructure development as a top priority, stressing that improved facilities are essential for nurturing talent and raising competitive standards.
Gilani also presented a comprehensive report outlining the federation’s recent activities, initiatives, and progress achieved over the past several months. The report detailed efforts aimed at strengthening domestic structures, enhancing player development pathways, and increasing international engagement.
Expressing full confidence in the current PFF leadership, Grafström commended the strides made within a year and reiterated FIFA’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s football ecosystem.
