Fatima Sana’s all-round performance led Conquerors to a 16-run win over Challengers in the National Women’s T20 Tournament 2025-26 match at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground in Lahore on Tuesday.
Batting first, Conquerors scored 241 for five in their 20 overs, the highest total in Pakistan Women’s T20 history. They surpassed the previous record of 233 for no loss, set by Lahore against Peshawar at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on 18 January 2024 in the National Women’s T20 Tournament.
For Conquerors, captain Fatima top-scored with an unbeaten 91 off 33 balls, which included 10 fours and six sixes. She scored her runs at the strike-rate of 275.76 and stitched an unbroken 112-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Hafsa Khalid (23 not out, 24b, 1×4, 1×6).
Ayesha Zafar, batting at number three also impressed with a brisk 57 off 22 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes at a strike-rate of 259.
For Challengers, Arijah Haseeb picked up two wickets for 42.
In turn, Eyman Fatima, who made her T20I debut for Pakistan last year, scored a valiant 112 off 57 balls, including 14 fours and five sixes, to keep her side in contention. She was well supported by wicketkeeper-batter Sidra Nawaz, who scored 60 off 32 balls, striking nine fours and one six.
Following the dismissal of both set batters, Challengers finished on 225 for six in their 20 overs.
For Conquerors, Fatima bagged three wickets for 33 in her four overs.
In the second match of the day, Sidra Amin’s unbeaten half-century helped Stars beat Strikers by 54 runs.
Opting to bat first, Stars posted 158 for six in 20 overs. Sidra Amin scored 62 off 38 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes. For Strikers, Quratulain and Umm-e-Hani took two wickets each.
In reply, Strikers were bowled out for 104 in 17.5 overs. Laiba Nasir was the standout bowler with three wickets, while Aleesa Mukhtiar and Neha Sharmin Nadeem took two wickets apiece.
On Thursday, Stars will take on Invincibles at Bagh-e-Jinnah, while Strikers will face Conquerors at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground. Both matches will begin at 10am.
