Allied Bank 97th Punjab Polo Cup: FG Polo set up semifinal clash with BN Polo

TTS Report :

FG Polo delivered a commanding performance to defeat the host team, Lahore Polo Club, by 7–1.5 goals on the second day of the Allied Bank 97th Punjab Polo Cup, securing their place in the semifinals of the prestigious tournament.
The historic Punjab Polo Cup, now in its 97th edition, is being organised at Lahore Polo Club with the support of Allied Bank. The event continues to attract significant attention from polo enthusiasts and sports dignitaries. Prominent attendees included Lahore Polo Club President Malik Azam Hayat Noon, officials from Allied Bank, members of the club’s executive committee, and their families.
In a one-sided contest, FG Polo dominated from the very first chukker, showcasing superior teamwork, speed, and tactical discipline. Star player Raja Mikayial Sami led the charge with an outstanding five-goal haul, while Marcos Rivarola and Raul Laplacette added one goal each to complete the tally.
The Lahore Polo Club team, which began the match with a half-goal handicap advantage, struggled to contain the aggressive attacking play of FG Polo. Their only goal of the match was scored by Ahmed Ali Tiwana, but it was not enough to challenge FG Polo’s overwhelming momentum.
With this victory, FG Polo have officially qualified for the semifinals and will face BN Polo in the second semifinal on Friday. Meanwhile, the first semifinal is scheduled for Thursday, where Diamond Paints will take on the Lahore Polo Club team. The winner of that match will earn a place in the main final of the tournament.
