FG/Din, Master Paints and Diamond Paints qualify for the semifinals of 6th Allama Iqbal Polo Cup

FG/Din, Master Paints and Diamond Paints qualified for the semifinals of the 6th Allama Iqbal Polo Cup 2025, sponsored by Master Paints in the loving memory of Sufi Haris, after registering impressive victories in their respective matches at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Wednesday.

In the first match of the day, Master Paints outclassed Team Balochistan by a convincing margin of 9–3. Master Paints dominated the encounter from the opening chukker and maintained control throughout the four-chukker contest. Amirreza Behboudi emerged as the standout performer, scoring crucial goals, including a fine 60-yard conversion, to lead the scoring charge. Sufi Haroon also played a pivotal role with multiple field goals, while M. Ali Malik chipped in to strengthen Master Paints’ tally.

Team Balochistan struggled to match the pace of their opponents, with Malik Ali Kuli, Omar Asjad Malhi and Marcos Rivarola managing to score their side’s goals. Despite moments of resistance, Balochistan could not stop the free-flowing Master Paints attack, which sealed a comprehensive victory and a semifinal berth.

In the second match of the day, FG/Din secured a hard-fought 9–7 win against BN in an action-packed contest. FG/Din showed superior finishing and composure in crucial moments to edge past their opponents. Mikayial Sami was in sublime form, scoring repeatedly through field goals, long-range conversions and a penalty, proving decisive for FG/Din. Saqib Khakwani and SM Farhad also contributed important goals to keep FG/Din ahead.

BN fought valiantly, with Babar Naseem, Hamza Mawaz and Ibrahim Khalil finding the goal through a mix of field efforts and long-range strikes. However, FG/Din’s consistent scoring across chukkers ensured they stayed in front and ultimately clinched the match to book their place in the semifinals.

In the third match of the day, Diamond Paints continued their impressive run by defeating PB 9–7 in another competitive encounter. Diamond Paints displayed excellent teamwork and attacking flair, with Jalal Arsalan leading from the front by scoring multiple field goals and conversions. Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Temur Nadeem also made valuable contributions, keeping the scoreboard ticking for Diamond Paints.

PB remained competitive throughout the match, with Bilal Haye and Ahmed Ali Tiwana scoring important goals, including long-range conversions, to keep the contest alive. However, Diamond Paints held their nerve in the closing stages to secure victory and confirm their semifinal qualification.
