On the final delivery of the 47th over, the Boys in Green managed to chase down the 260-run target.

In the fifth match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19s Asia Cup, which took place on Sunday at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, Pakistan U19 defeated India by eight wickets.

Pakistan’s player of the day was Azan Awais, who struck a brilliant 105 off 130 with 10 boundaries to maintain his undefeated record and lead the Green Shirts to an easy victory.

Shamyl Hussain was dismissed for just eight runs in the fifth over, leaving his team trailing 28-1, so Pakistan did not get off to the best start. But Pakistan had security thanks to Shahzaib Khan and Awais’ 110-run partnership.

Shahzaib finished his innings with 63 runs, which was a fantastic performance. Following his exit, captain Saad Baig and batsman Awais combined for 125 runs, which was enough to win the match.

Baig, who amassed a quick 68 off 51 deliveries with eight fours and a six, was Pakistan’s second-highest scorer of the day. In U19 competitions, this is Pakistan’s most successful chase against India to date.

Thanks to some late runs down the order from Sachin Dhas, India had earlier set a target of 260 runs for Pakistan.

After taking two early wickets, Amir Hassan and Mohammad Zeeshan left the Blues 46-2 in just 11.2 overs, giving the Green Shirts a great start.

But captain Uday Saharan and middle-order batsman Adarsh Singh put up a crucial 93-run partnership as the former scored 62 off 81 before falling victim to Arafat Minhas.

India lost two wickets in quick succession after Singh was removed from the field, but Saharan continued to play and score important runs.

After being removed for 60 runs by Ubaid Shah, India finished 42.5 overs with 206-6.

It appeared as though the Men in Green would contain the Blues to 230 runs, but Sachin Dhas persisted in pressing the Green Shirts, eventually taking his team to a competitive target of 260 runs with a quick 58 off 32 that featured two fours and three sixes.

With four wickets, Zeeshan was Pakistan’s standout player, followed by Amir and Ubaid with two apiece.
