PM-formed committee to decide Pakistan’s World Cup participation in India, meeting on Thursday

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s committee for the World Cup in India will hold its first meeting this Thursday. Headed by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, the meeting will discuss Pakistan’s participation in the tournament and review Ahmedabad as the venue for the Pakistan vs India match. The 14-member committee includes various ministers and representatives from secret agencies and sensitive departments. Their recommendations will be sent to the PM for the final decision. Previously, India refused to participate in the Asia Cup hosted by Pakistan, leading to only four matches being held in Pakistan, with the rest in Sri Lanka. In response, PCB COO Salman Naseer wrote a letter to the PM, seeking permission for Pakistan’s participation in the mega event.
