Lady Luck favored Alcaraz this time as he clinched the set 6-4, securing his inaugural Wimbledon Open victory. This triumph adds to Alcaraz’s previous Grand Slam title, which he won at the 2022 US Open.
It is noteworthy that this marks Djokovic’s first defeat at Wimbledon since 2017, ending his dominance at the event. Furthermore, it is the first time since 2002 that the Wimbledon title has been claimed by someone other than Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, or Andy Murray. For the past two decades, these four players had monopolized the championship.
