Islamabad: Former Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani appointed as Independent Adjudicator for PCB Elections
Former Chief Justice (Retd) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has been appointed as an Independent Adjudicator to oversee the election process for the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The appointment was made with the approval of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, as stated in a notification. Justice Jillani will have the authority to intervene in case of any disputes arising during the election, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the PCB headquarters.
The notification further states that the Prime Minister has appointed Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, a former Chief Justice of Pakistan, as the Independent Adjudicator to carry out the duties specified in Article 7(4) of the PCB Constitution (2014) for the smooth conduct of the Chairman’s election.
The specific terms and conditions of the Independent Adjudicator will be determined by the PCB at a later stage. While the PCB Election Commissioner, Ahmad Shahzad Rana, will oversee the election process, the Independent Adjudicator will hold the final decision-making authority in case of any disputes.
