The two-day visit will include meetings with top PCB officials, including PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi, PCB Chief Operating Officer Barrister Salman Naseer, and other board officials. This will be Barclay’s first visit to Pakistan since he was appointed ICC Chairman in October 2022.

Allardice has visited Pakistan on several occasions in his previous roles as ICC General Manager – Cricket and ICC Chief Executive. The visit comes at a time when the PCB is unhappy with the new revenue model proposed by the ICC. The model would see India receive 38.5 percent of the ICC’s projected earnings, while England and Australia would receive 6.89 and 6.25 percent respectively. Pakistan is set to earn 5.75 percent.

PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has said that the PCB is not happy with the proposed model and is demanding more transparency from the ICC.

“We are insisting that the ICC should tell us how these figures were arrived at,” Sethi told Reuters.

“We are not happy with the situation as it stands.”Come June, when the board is expected to approve the financial model, unless these details are provided to us, we are not going to approve it.”Sethi admitted that India deserves a significant share of the ICC’s revenue, but said that the PCB is also entitled to a fair share.

“In principle, India should get more, there is no doubt about that but … how is this table being developed?” Sethi said.

The PCB is hoping that the visit of Barclay and Allardice will help to resolve the issue of the new revenue model.
