LAHORE: A three-member delegation of Punjab University and Majlis-e-Taraqi-e-Adab Lahore has called on President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Saleem Mazhar, Forman Christian College Department of Urdu Chairman Prof. Dr Akhtar Shumar and Majlis-e-Taraqi-Adab Director Mansoor Afaq participated in the meeting.
The delegation extended an invitation to the president for presiding over the International Lahore Literary Festival and an international conference on literature, which Dr Arif Alvi has accepted. It is pertinent to mention here that after declaration of Lahore as “City of Literature” by UNESCO, Punjab University and Majlis-e-Taraqi-Adab in collaboration with the Government of Punjab will organize a three-day international conference in the last week of May. In the conference, poets, writers, artists, singers and others will participate.
