Pakistan WAPDA won the 5th PARCO Women’s National Rugby Sevens Championship, while Army claimed the title of the 26th Men’s National Rugby Championship, both events organised under the auspices of the Pakistan Rugby Union.
The two-day event concluded at the Pakistan Rugby Academy, with PARCO General Manager Sharon gracing the finals as the chief guest. She was accompanied by Pakistan Rugby Union Chairman and President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Chaudhry Arif Saeed, PRU President Rizwan Malik, Secretary Salman Sheikh, and officials from the Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rugby Associations, along with representatives from WAPDA Sports, Army Sports, HEC Sports, and a large number of rugby players.
In the women’s final, WAPDA played well against Punjab and outclassed them by 29–5 to clinch the championship, while HEC managed to secure the third place in the women championship. The men’s final witnessed a thrilling contest between Army and WAPDA, which Army won convincingly 21–7 to lift the title. HEC finished third in the men’s competition as well.
