Conor McGregor will make his Hollywood debut alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a remake of the classic movie Road House. The former two-weight world champion has been certain that the time is right to follow Ronda Rousey out of the ring and onto the big screen for some time. Although it’s unclear what role McGregor will play, it’s known he won’t appear in it as himself.
Later this month, filming is scheduled to begin in the Dominican Republic, raising the question of when McGregor intends to rejoin the UFC. Since injuring his leg during his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier last summer, he has not competed.
The Irishman has only won one fight since 2016, a 40-second destruction of Donald Cerrone in 2020, and is anticipated to be out until the new year. “Conor McGregor is very delighted to stretch his historic career to Hollywood and partner alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in this reinvention of Road House, a beloved classic,” a spokesperson for the 35-year-old stated.
This is the start of another prosperous endeavour in the McGregor empire, even though fighting continues to be his primary emphasis.
