It was topic of the town that Shaheen Shah Afridi must be given rest ahead of important series against big nations but this recent interview of Shaheen, which was released by PCB Media Department from Harare, Zimbabwe, shows that Shaheen will play the Zimbabwe series as well and he is more committed to excel against the hosts.
In a video message, Shaheen said: “Alhamdulillah, we gave our best against South Africa and won both ODI and T20I series. We are eager to perform better during the Zimbabwe series and help our side win the series in a great style.”
“Whenever I am given bowl by my captain, I try to bowl in the best possible manner and help my side take crucial wickets at the time of need. We do made some mistakes during the South Africa series, but we will try not to repeat them against Zimbabwe and outclass them with our superb bowling,” the pacer added.
“I am enjoying my cricket and want to give better performance in each coming series. My physio and trainer are working well with me and I am also taking care of myself and my fitness. During the PSL, I did take rest and whenever needed, I am given proper rest,” Shaheen further explained.
“Our bowling unit is young and energetic. We know each other well and we get energy while seeing each other performing well. Hopefully against Zimbabwe, every bowler will try to take more and more wicket, and this competitive atmosphere help us do our best for our national team,” Shaheen concluded.
