Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Salim Saifullah Khan has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) during the elections held virtually in the annual general meeting of the ATF.
In a press release here on Wednesday, the PTF said that it was indeed a matter of great pride and honour for Pakistan and also for the Pakistan Tennis Federation, that the services of Salim Saifullah Khan had been recognized at such a high level.
Salim Saifullah thanked the ATF member countries for supporting his candidature, which resulted in his election as a member of the Board of Directors. He also assured that collective efforts would be made to further promote and develop tennis in Asia, especially by concentrating on the grassroots level as there was no dearth of talent in the region. He also emphasised enhanced cooperation between the federations of the ATF in various fields.
It is hoped that with election of Salim Saifullah in the Asian Tennis Federation Board of Directors, like cricket, Pakistan will earn the rights of hosting big tennis events at home courts and at least Asian countries and their players will regularly come here to play competitive tennis. It will not only help Pakistan players play alongside the international players and improve their games but also help in boosting the economy of the country by hosting international players in a befitting manners.
