Kot Addu won the South Punjab West Rugby Sevens Championship 2021 after beating Layyah by 24-5 in the final.
Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) Secretary Salman Shaikh said: “The PRU is doing great work on the development side and we are doing some good work at grassroots levels especially in South Punjab and we have added five new districts Layyah, Bhakher, DG Khan, Jhang and Mianwali to PRU’s growing family. We organised rugby sevens tournament, which was won by Kot Addu Rugby Union.”
“Earlier in the first semifinal, Kot Addu beat Bhakkar by 10-7 and Layyah beat Mianwali by 17-5 in the second semifinal. In the third and fourth position match, Bhakkar beat Mianwali by 5-0. In league matches Bhakkar beat Layyah by 10-5, Kot Addu beat Mianwali by 5-0, Layyah beat Jhang by 12-7, the match between Bhakkar and Layyah ended in a 10-10 draw while the another encounter between Mianwali and DG Khan also ended in a 12-12 draw
