Lahore: Azad Jammu Kashmir Tennis Association (AJKTA) was formally affiliated with the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) as a non-voting member, in accordance with the recent decision of the PTF Council meeting 2021, it was officially said.
While welcoming the affiliation, PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan termed it a historic decision as result of the hectic efforts of AJKTA President Farooq Sabir and Secretary General Habib Jarral in this regard. Talking to media on Wednesday, PTF Senior Vice President Khawaja Suhail Iftikhar described the induction as a breakthrough for encouraging sports activities comprising meaningful effort for promotion of Tennis in AJK.
“It would not have been possible without guidance, patronage by President PTF Salim Saifullah Khan, as it required fulfillment of PTF Constitutional requirements and related formalities,” he added. The PTF President also urged the current affiliated bodies to extend maximum assistance and support to the AJKTA for organizing various events, tournaments at all levels.
