Lahore (October 18. 2021): The qualifying round matches were played in the Aitchison College Open National Tennis Championship 2021 here at the Aitchison College premises on Monday.
The prestigious event is being played in different age group categories, which include boys U-18 singles and doubles, girls U-18 singles and doubles, boys U-16 singles, boys U-14 singles and doubles, girls U-14 singles, boys U-12 singles, girls U-12 singles, boys/girls U-12 doubles, boys/girls U-10 singles and seniors 40 plus doubles.
Tournament Director Rashid Malik, who is also Secretary PLTA, said that for the development and encouragement of junior players, the Aitchison College Open National Tennis Championship 2021 is being organized. “Our purpose of conducting maximum number of junior events is to promote the game at grassroots level and find fresh talent, groom and train them and provide the Pakistan Tennis Federation that talent to represent the country in international events.
“I am also grateful to Principal Aitchison College Mr. Michael Thomas for sponsoring this event and I hope that he will continue to play his important role in further promoting the game in every coroner of the country,” he added. The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on today (Tuesday) at 4:00 pm at the Aitchison College tennis courts. Principal Aitchison College Mr. Michael Thomas along with PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik will inaugurate the event during a colorful opening ceremony.
