Punjab’s Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi announced to build a 25-storey sports complex near Gaddafi Stadium. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the CM Punjab said his government in collaboration with the UAE will build a high-class sports complex in near Gaddafi Stadium.
“UAE and Punjab government will build a 25-storey sports complex near Gaddafi Stadium at a cost of $1 billion,” the CM Punjab announced. “The cost of the new project will be shared between the UAE and the Punjab government with the former contributing 70pc, while the latter will provide the remaining 30pc,
“An underground tunnel will also be built for the movement of sports players. The construction of the modern complex will make it easier to hold all cricket matches in Lahore instead of Dubai,” he added.
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) often emphasized on constructing nearby hotels to further ease hosting international events in Karachi and Lahore.
