TTS Report
The promo showcases intense moments from previous editions of the tournament, highlighting exciting rivalries between Pakistan vs India, Pakistan vs Afghanistan, and Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka. Unlike the recently-released World Cup promo, this one has received praise from cricket fans for providing equal coverage to all participating nations.
The Asia Cup will kick off with host Pakistan facing Nepal in the opening match in Multan. Pakistan will host four matches, including a Super 4s fixture. India’s group stage matches, including the highly-anticipated clash against Pakistan on September 2, will be held in Kandy. The rest of the Super 4s matches, including the final, will be played in Colombo. The arch-rivals Pakistan and India will meet again on September 10 in Colombo if they both qualify for the Super 4s.
The tournament features six teams, divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the Super 4s. The Asia Cup 2023 will run from August 31 to September 17 and will be played in the ODI format, serving as a valuable opportunity for Asian teams to prepare for the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup. Hosts Pakistan are in the same group as arch-rivals India and Nepal, while the other group comprises defending champions and co-hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
