Pakistan’s volleyball team is gearing up to face tough opponents in the upcoming Asian Games, as the draws for the event were revealed on Thursday. The team, currently ranked 52nd in the world, will be competing in Group D alongside Chinese Taipei (ranked 44) and Mongolia (ranked 58). The Asian Games are scheduled to commence on September 23 in Hangzhou, China.
In another exciting development, Pakistan’s U16 Volleyball team has been performing remarkably in the ongoing Asian U16 Volleyball Championship in Uzbekistan. With an impressive fourth consecutive win, they defeated Thailand with a commanding scoreline of 3-0 in their latest Super 8 match. The victory was secured with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, and 25-19.
As the competition progresses, Pakistan’s U16 team is now set to compete in the semi-finals on Friday, July 28, against either Japan or Iran.
Earlier in the Super 8 stage, Pakistan achieved a resounding victory against Australia, securing a 3-0 win with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, and 25-14. Furthermore, they also earned a carry point against Chinese Taipei during the Super 8, thanks to their win against them in the group stage.
In the group stage, Pakistan displayed their prowess by defeating Mongolia with set scores of 25-9, 25-17, and 25-13, and also secured a victory against Chinese Taipei with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-16.
With both the national and U16 teams showcasing their skills on the international stage, Pakistan’s volleyball enthusiasts have reasons to be excited about their country’s prospects in these prestigious tournaments.
