Pakistani Mountaineer Shehroze Kashif Sets Goal to Summit All 14 Peaks Above 8,000m by Year’s End

Shehroze Kashif, the record-breaking Pakistani mountaineer, announced on Wednesday that he plans to accomplish his ambitious goal of climbing all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters before the end of the year. At the age of 21, he has already scaled 11 of these peaks, including Mt Annapurna 1 (8091 meters) in Nepal’s Gandaki, which he successfully summited on Monday with compatriot Naila Kiani and other members of the Seven Summits Treks’ team.

Shehroze plans to take a break for a few weeks to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with his family in Pakistan before attempting his next climb, Dhaulagiri (8,167m). After Eid, he intends to return to Nepal and resume his climbing journey.

Shehroze has a history of breaking records in the world of mountaineering. He became the youngest climber to summit K2 on July 27, 2021, and the youngest Pakistani to summit Mount Everest on May 11, 2021. He also holds two Guinness World Records for being the youngest to climb K2 and Broad Peak.

He started climbing mountains at the age of 11 and has since conquered various peaks, including Mingli Sar in Shimshal at 13 and Khosar Gang in alpine style at 18 years of age. Shehroze’s passion for mountaineering has earned him recognition from the Sports Board of Punjab, which made him the youth ambassador of Punjab after his successful summit of Mount Everest.

Despite the challenges and difficulties that come with mountaineering, Shehroze remains determined to achieve his goal and become the youngest mountaineer to have summited all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters.
